Roman Polanski Requests “Miley Cyrus Posters” For His Cell

Director Roman Polanski has lodged a special request with a Swiss magistrate to have his “beloved collection of Miley Cyrus posters” delivered to his jail cell, the Swiss news agency Emmentaler is reporting.

Polanski, who is facing extradition to the U.S. for drugging and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl in 1977, made the request through his lawyer.

“To arrest a 73-year old man for a crime that allegedly happened so long ago is a travesty of justice,” said lawyer Herve Temine. “The least we can do is make him comfortable while he fights the charges.”

Polanski’s arrest has sent shock waves across France, the director’s adopted homeland. French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand condemned the arrest and, as a sign of solidarity, sent the director a DVD copy of the 1998 family film The Parent Trap, staring a 12-year-old Lindsay Lohan.

The incarceration also sparked outraged in Poland, Polanski’s boyhood home. However, the Polish government’s plans to send the director two-dozen chocolate-chip cookies were scrapped when Polish bakers found that it was too hard to peel the M&M’s.
